Oncology and Chemotherapy is available at Oneida County Hospital. Michael Francisco, M.D.-Medical Oncologist and Hematologist will be seeing patients at Oneida County Hospital. This allows Oneida County Hospital to offer oncology services here locally in Malad, and allows them to be able to not have to travel for this important service.

New Endoscopy Technology
Oneida County is happy to announce that they now have the latest endoscopic technology for performing colonoscopies to help diagnose disease in the upper and lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Oneida County Hospital saw the need for this new, upgraded technology and is leading the way in providing the best possible screening and diagnostic tools for the patients it serves.

New Physician: Oneida County Hospital is excited to introduce Dr. Shane Anderson to the community. Dr. Anderson provides a wide spectrum of internal medicine services including geriatrics and family medicine. Complex medicine, Sports medicine, Trauma and Critical care. He is available to see patients at the Oneida County Clinic 766-2600.

Oneida County Hospital & Long Term Care was the recipient of 2 awards. Blue Cross of Idaho Rural Hospital Quality Initiative award & they also received a perfect 5 star rating for their Long Term Care center.
The Blue Cross of Idaho Rural Hospital Quality Initiative award is based on Quality Incentives. OCH has really made some positive achievements. CT & Digital Radiology, State of the art-in-house laboratory testing, cozy rooms & new dining room in our Long Term care Facility, & the implementation of the state of art Electronic Medical Record system. This award recognizes hospitals for their involvement & commitment in making improvements to the quality, safety and affordability of healthcare in Idaho.
Oneida County Hospital is proud to be the recipient of The Blue Cross of Idaho Hospital Quality Incentive Award. This award was developed in collaboration with Idaho hospitals and the Idaho Hospital Association (IHA) to measure patient safety and improved clinical outcomes, and rewards hospitals based on their results. The award program evaluates several criteria, including the implementation of evidence-based measures known to improve health outcomes in treating pneumonia, heart attack, congestive heart failure and diabetes. The program also evaluates and promotes patient safety by monitoring infections and surgical complications.

Oneida County Hospital Long Term Care ranked in the top 12% of facilities in Idaho as well as the United States. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services recently released nursing home ranking for 17,000 licensed nursing homes across the county. Oneida County Long Term Care was delighted to receive the highest rating possible of 5 stars.
This is an inclusive overall rating in the areas of Health Inspections, Staffing, Quality Measures, Fire Safety and Nursing Home Characteristics.
